Holistic Hands at Hoar Cross Hall Jaime Cooke, Spa Editor (during treatment) My trip to Hoar Cross Hall was well worth the journey from London.
Not only is this premiere health spa resort impressive with its grand presence, but my Holistic Water Bed Massage was the most unique and spiritually fulfilling. Hoar Cross Spa resides in a grand traditional English stately home located in Staffordshire and offers slimming and detoxification programmes for both local day spa patrons and long-term guests. Its remote location makes it a good place to get on track with healthy eating, not to mention menus within the hotel all have guidelines of what is acceptable for specific diets. It is the Natural Healing center that really caught my attention, as it offers Hypnotherapy and Iridology, which is study of internal health through the eyes.
As I arrived I was lead into a waiting room 10 mins prior to my treatment, and was amazed at how busy it was. Within 5 minutes, individual clients were called and collected for their treatment it was a very smooth running system. I was then greeted by a lovely woman named Mo, who walked me down to the treatment room where I would be taken away on the most unique journey. The treatment I received was a Nou-U Holistic Water Bed Massage, which is a product of Hydrotherm.
I was guided through the procedure thoroughly and then de-robed for my massage. I lay down on my back on what was like a warm waterbed, and then asked what scene I find most calming, I replied with the beach. From that moment on as my massage began, I was walking with Mo on warm sand and feeling the light breeze from the ocean. I have never experienced such vivid meditation during a massage.
The beauty of this treatment is that it starts from your feet upward, without the interruption of having to roll over. Mo had an artful way of targeting the back muscles using a De-stress oil, whilst I was still laying on it. My favourite area was the tummy, I felt as though all my internal organs were being massaged and energised through a nice constant technique. When my wonderful journey came to an end, I was brought out of it with a calming voice allowing me to take my time to come back from the beach.
Mo had an amazing aura about her and she was very in tune with chakras (energy channels) and her power to heal through her hands. I was very impressed at the holistic knowledge and passion she obtained. We had a nice conversation afterwards about the therapies her and her Nou-U business partner, Steph specialise in. I found out that they also offer L.
I.A therapy, which is a holistic facial for unblocking energy channels. Nou-U is planning to offer the two therapies as a package, which will be like a complete spiritual make over. The great thing about the Water Bed Massage is that its non-intrusive and highly beneficial for pregnant women, elderly and immobile individuals.
The environment of the treatment room was designed through three important elements; fire (candles), water (massage bed), and earth (stones), not to mention beautiful music to help you on your way to complete mental and physical bliss.
